Headline
Rare Downeast Yacht with well deserved reputation in need of TLC.
Boat Condition
NO WATER TRIAL. Being sold AS IS WHERE IS.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE No batteries aboard.
The seller makes no claims as to what works and what doesn't.
According to the seller, the engine room had some rainwater intrusion and the engine may have suffered damage as now she will turn over but not run. She is in definite need of a mechanical evaluation to see if this can be repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. It's a Perkins diesel, so likely she is repairable. This engine came with the boat when the sellers purchased her and had been reliable all those years.
There are no batteries aboard but would normally take 4 marine batteries.
She needs some TLC to bring her back to her glory.
Please know this is somewhat of a project boat, no water trials or engine survey (engine won't start), this is being sold as is where is.
The place where you see the white tape is where there is some rotten wood that needs addressing.
I visited this boat and walked the entire boat, there are no soft spots on the deck. I found it easy to see her beauty even though she needs some work, this was once a gorgeous boat and can be again.
When the sellers rehabbed the boat, one of the things they did was to replace the old deck with marine plywood and epoxy the deck. It's very solid but could use a paint job.
I noted some wood rot in a few places and photographed all I could see. The boxes under the chairs have some wood rot inside and need addressing.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE No batteries aboard.
